Random Name Poetry: CA Conrad and Ariana Reines
Penn Book Center's Random Name reading series begins its 2013 season with a reading by two of the most exciting voices in contemporary poetry. There will be books for sale, and refreshments. Should be amazing - you might want to get here early to get a seat.
CA Conrad is the author of Tranlucent Salamander (Troll Thread Press, 2013), A Beautiful Marsupial Afternoon: New (Soma)tics (Wave Books, 2012), The Book of Frank (Wave Books, 2010), Advanced Elvis Course (Soft Skull Press, 2009), Deviant Propulsion (Soft Skull Press, 2006), and a collaboration with poet Frank Sherlock titled The City Real & Imagined (Factory School, 2010). He is a 2011 PEW Fellow, a 2012 UCROSS Fellow, and a 2013 BANFF Fellow. He is a 2012 and 2013 visiting faculty member for the Summer Writing Program of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University. Visit

Ariana Reines was born in Salem, Massachusetts. Her books include The Cow (Alberta Prize: 2006), Coeur de Lion (2007), and Mercury (2011), all published by Fence Books. The Foundry Theatre's production of her play Telephone (2009) won two Obies; a new production of the play will happen in Cleveland this spring. Her translations include books by TIQQUN, Jean-Luc Hennig, and Charles Baudelaire. She was Roberta C. Holloway Lecturer in Poetry at UCBerkeley in 2009 and led workshops at The Poetry Project and Poets House in New York. This fall, she led a poetry sabbath called ANCIENT EVENINGS at 208Bowery in New York. A new chapbook called Thursday is coming in March from SPORK.
