Poetry Reading w/ Eleanor Stanford & Sarah Blake

Please join us for a poetry reading with Eleanor Stanford and Sarah Blake!

The poems in Eleanor Stanford’s third collection, The Imaginal Marriage, shimmer—not just with beauty, but like objects about to transform. With the touchstone image of the midwife leading us through these pages, the poems shift and move through struggle and comfort, magic and loss, through desire shouldered across generations and continents. What is birthed in these poems feels entirely new and necessary.
Eleanor Stanford is the author of three books of poetry: The Imaginal MarriageBartram's Garden, and The Book of Sleep. Her work has appeared in Poetry, Ploughshares, the Kenyon Review, and many others. She was recently a Fulbright Fellow to Brazil, where she researched and wrote about traditional midwifery.

Sarah Blake is the author of two poetry collections, Let’s Not Live on Earth and Mr. West, both from Wesleyan University Press. In 2013, she was awarded a literature fellowship from the NEA. Her debut novel, Naamah, is forthcoming from Riverhead Books in April 2019.
